Valencia, April 25, 2017.- The Valencian company S2 Grupo, specialized in cybersecurity and critical systems management, will participate in Securmática from 25 to 27 April, XXVIII Global Congress on cybersecurity, information security and privacy. In this meeting, which will pay particular attention to the importance of cybersecurity in relation to senior management, the main representatives of the sector will participate both in the Public Administration and large companies of strategic interest, such as those in the banking or energy sector, among others. S2 Grupo, which is one of the co-sponsors of this event, will offer a conference on the keys to cybersecurity in the energy sector tomorrow, through its successful experience with EDP. Specifically, the lecture "Protection of EDP energy control systems" will be given, in which Óscar Navarro, head of industrial cybersecurity at S2 Grupo, and Arturo Díaz, responsible for logical security at EDP, will delve into the keys to guarantee the Cyberprotection of a critical infrastructure such as this energy company. Currently, this type of infrastructure is the target of cyber-attacks that seek to access their control systems and are increasingly sophisticated. To avoid this, S2 Grupo has ensured that the only way to be successful is the exhaustive knowledge of both Information Technology systems and the design and exploitation of industrial systems, as this will allow the development of a cybersecurity that includes all vulnerable areas of the infrastructure, which could allow access to a cyber-attacker. So far, there has been a general immaturity of solutions capable of protecting specific cybersecurity aspects of the industrial control systems of the cybersecurity monitoring and supervision process on industrial control systems that put critical infrastructures at risk. To this end, S2 Grupo has its own iSOC (industrial cybersecurity operations center) and has developed its own eMas SIEM technology suite that allows the detection of IT threats and Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) threats. It was created with the knowledge of how these systems are designed and exploited and the development of specific intelligence rules were allowed. The success of this system lies in the identification of those situations that may pose a risk to the control infrastructure and its rapid detection, starting from the precise knowledge of the way in which this type of systems are exploited.
