R2D2
The strategic objective of R2D2 is to improve the resilience and reliability of today's EPES (Electrical Power and Energy Systems) against a growing number of threats and vulnerabilities that can affect such critical infrastructures, exposing weaknesses with detrimental and harmful effects for different stakeholders and end-customers.
This will be done by deploying four tools dedicated to the prevention, protection and restoration of EPES in two different, independent but complementary scenarios in the energy value chain - from regional coordination between TSOs, to the privacy of BT customers. The project will build on the strong energy coordination actions in South East Europe (SEE), following EU legislation and in line with recent activities promoted by ENTSO on cybersecurity in transmission systems.
Through the demonstration and integration of the innovative solutions proposed by R2D2, it will be possible to achieve a more secure, reliable and resilient energy system in Europe, which will have a positive and tangible impact on the entire European EPES value chain. In this context, R2D2 will provide a palette of complementary solutions synthesized in four products: "Multi-risk assessment framework for power system" (P1 - C3PO), "Resilience suite for TSO & DSO", (P2 - IRIS), "Prevention Systems For Energy Infrastructures Security" (P3 - PRECOG) and "Enhanced Assets Maintenance And Management Toolkit" (P4 - EMMA).
S2 Grupo will contribute to the definition of the different business scenarios, use cases and KPIs of the project as well as to the definition of the global architecture of the project developments. In terms of Cybersecurity, S2 Grupo will contribute to the inclusion of cyber threats and other aspects of Cybersecurity in the capabilities for dynamic risk assessment, advanced monitoring and event management developed within the framework of the project, as well as in the development of new capabilities for the detection of known and unknown threats, such as APTs.
