Valencia, 16 March 2019 - Today the Valencian company S2 Grupo and Falla Chiva- Francisco de Llano have presented the II cybersecure Falla. It is a pioneering project to raise awareness throughout society about the importance of the safe use of technology and avoid being victims of cybercrime such as cyberbullying, phishing, grooming, cyberbullying, and so on. The event was attended by the managing-partners of S2 Grupo, José Rosell and Miguel A. Juan; as well as Juan Puig, president of Falla Chiva-Francisco de Llano; and representatives of the cybersecurity area of more than ten of the main national companies. The II cybersecure Falla, which corresponds to the children's sculpture of this commission, has been created by the fallero artist Salva Dolz, and this year focuses on "Cybersecurity in the home". This allows access to cybersecurity tips in an interactive way, through the use of a google home system integrated into the monument. "With this initiative with the Falla Chiva-Francisco de Llano we want families to be aware that in the near future in each European house around 150 IP addresses will be registered, this means that its technological complexity will be higher than that of many SMEs 5 years ago. Therefore, it is essential that families know the risks and how to act appropriately so as not to jeopardize the security of their home", said José Rosell, managing-partner of S2 Grupo. "The two main motivations for attacking a home are the thieving of information and obtaining money. Stealing photos of a family's entire life or compromised images of a minor, for example, are used as blackmail in exchange for large sums of money", explained Miguel A. Juan, managing-partner of S2 Grupo. The members of the Singular Club, led by S2 Grupo, have been present at this event to show the importance of uniting cybersecurity and Fallas. The Singular Club is the first organization to be created to raise society's awareness of cybersecurity, focusing on particularly vulnerable groups such as children or women who are victims of domestic violence. One of its first actions has been this collaboration with the Fallas to turn them into a pole of cybersecurity awareness in these sectors of the population. Together with S2 Grupo, experts from leading companies and institutions responsible for national cybersecurity such as CSIRT-CV (response center for cybersecurity incidents of the Generalitat Valenciana), CCN (National Cryptology Center), Air Nostrum, Global Omnium, Fermax, Panda and Broseta Abogados take part in this project. This afternoon: family day about cybersecurity at home This afternoon, at 5.00pm, there will be a family day of cybersecurity in the home that will be taught by members of the CSIRT-CV. This is the Response Center for Incidents in Information Technologies of the Valencian Community. This entity, managed by S2 Grupo, is responsible for ensuring cybersecurity in the Valencian Community. Its team of experts will make a very special session with adults and young people in which they will show them the most common risks to which we are exposed when using technological devices that are connected to the Internet and that we have at home as smart loudspeakers, smart televisions, computers, tablets, smartphones, game consoles, home automation technology, etc. and how to use them safely. Some recommendations for protecting "connected homes" are:
- Awareness: families should be aware of the real dangers to which they are exposed, as technology is often purchased but the risks associated with it are completely unknown.
- Demand the design of secure devices: suppliers of this type of technology should invest in the development of secure devices from their earliest stage. They do not consider security as a design factor because they are quickly created to encourage consumption.
- Safe behavior guidelines: adults and young people must commit to the use of technology and behave responsibly by avoiding the use of pirated software, using strong passwords, etc.
Tomorrow Sunday 17 March: II Offering 4.0 Tomorrow, Sunday 17 March, the 2nd edition of Offering 4.0 will be held. The technology, from the hands of S2 Grupo and Falla Chiva-Francisco de Llano, has reached one of the most commemorative acts of these festivities as is the offering. In this way, for months, hundreds of people who will not be able to participate in this act parading, have left messages that want to reach the Virgin, on this occasion, and have been compiled in a book that will be delivered on Sunday by the commission of this Falla when they parade. In 2018, more than 200 people from various continents participated in this initiative by leaving their messages. More information: prensa@s2grupo.es
