S2 Grupo launches the Alan Turing Club
- Its objective is threefold: to help the most vulnerable groups in the safe use of new technologies and improve their employability, to bring together all the companies and associations that wish to collaborate in this matter and, finally, to raise global awareness of the personal and social consequences of an uninformed or irresponsible use of new technologies.
- On Friday, 22 February, the official opening dinner of this Club will be held in Valencia, which will formally begin its activity in the Fallas 2020.
- One of the actions of this Club, in which experts from some of the main companies in Spain will participate, will be to raise awareness through the Fallas.
Valencia, February 19, 2020.- S2 Grupo, a company specialized in cybersecurity and cyber-intelligence, has developed a new initiative to increase the awareness of society, in general, and of the most vulnerable groups in particular, about the risks that technology may have and thus improve their security in cyberspace. This is the consolidation of the "Alan Turing Club" (in honor of the father of modern computing, who managed to decipher, in World War II, the German message encoding machine "Enigma") whose purpose is threefold. Firstly, to help the most vulnerable population such as children, adolescents, the elderly, people with special abilities or female victims of gender-based violence to use technology safely. And, in addition, to increase the future employability of many of them through training in new technologies. “In 2017 we created the Alan Turing Club under a paradigm uniquely specialized in cybersecurity and business. In 2020, we shall pursue our mission to really achieve a more cyber-secure world, starting with the weakest link, which is the group considered to be the most vulnerable”, explained José Rosell. A second objective is to unite in the same club companies, foundations and associations with strong social convictions that wish to collaborate in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, to help these vulnerable groups. Along with them, experts from the new technologies and cybersecurity sector will participate voluntarily and totally altruistically to train and share their knowledge with these population groups. Finally, the purpose of the Alan Turing Club is to improve global awareness of the risks that an uninformed and/or irresponsible use of technology can have for individuals and society. "What we seek is to foster a rapprochement between experts in cybersecurity and society to create a fabric of knowledge and practice that will prevent the action of cybercriminals or the commission of crimes through an inappropriate and uninformed use of technology," said Miguel A Juan, managing-partner of S2 Grupo. In order to achieve this last objective, since 2018, the Fallas have been used as a loudspeaker for cybersecurity awareness. This has been possible thanks to the collaboration between S2 Grupo and the Chiva-Francisco de Llano Commission. On Friday, February 22, the official opening dinner of this Club will be held in Valencia, which will formally begin its activity in the Fallas 2020. More information: prensa@s2grupo.es
