The use of Artificial Intelligence becomes an ally to care for the elderly in the current state of alarm

S2 Grupo, allows families to care for their elderly family members from a distance and to know how they are at all times

  • Soffie software, created by the cybersecurity company S2 Grupo, allows families to care for their elderly family members from a distance and to know how they are at all times
  • It is an artificial intelligence that connects all the smart devices in the home through the Wi-Fi network and, in this way, stores and studies the data it records to detect anomalies, routine changes and dangerous situations that may occur in the home of the elderly, for example, and act to notify their relatives in real time

Valencia, June 2, 2020.-The isolation that we have currently experienced to face COVID-19 and avoid contagion, has become a real hindrance for many families for not being able to visit their elders (father, grandparents, aunts or uncles who live alone, etc.) as they are a risk group due to their advanced age. In this sense, S2 Grupo has highlighted that Artificial Intelligence is, at the moment, a great ally to take care of these relatives and know how they are at all times. The cybersecurity company launched Soffie in late 2019, which is the first Artificial Intelligence that converts a "normal" home into a "Smart Home" that actively takes care of its inhabitants. In this way, technology has ceased to be a passive element and has become an active member of the family unit, helping to protect and care for them. “When we launched Soffie, we obviously did not expect to experience the current global pandemic situation, and yet it can be an essential help for many families. Children, nieces and nephews, and grandchildren are concerned about the well-being of their older relatives, especially in these times, and the inability to establish physical contact has added uncertainty to the situation. And in this sense, the use of Soffie, which is technology for caring at a distance, can makea difference”, explains José Rosell, managing partner of S2 Grupo. It is a software that connects all the smart devices in the home through an Artificial Intelligence and, in this way, stores and studies the data it has recorded to detect anomalies, changes in routines and dangerous situations. For its operation, it is only necessary to have smart devices and IoT systems distributed throughout the home and associate them with Soffie, thus creating a versatile protection element that is alert 24 hours a day. “With a presence sensor located in the living room or in other rooms of the home (likethe bedroom or kitchen) Soffie detects if there is movement in the house. If the person we want to care for has not moved for many hours, it sends an alert to our mobile to inform us. The same happens, for example, if a fall is detected, since by using smart speakers, Soffie will ask if the person living in that home is okay and act accordingly, alerting the defined means of assistance", explained Miguel A. Juan, managing partner of S2 Grupo. The operation of this Artificial Intelligence is very simple. The application for mobile devices is downloaded from the app stores for free and guides us step by step in the installation. You only need to register, choose the rate you prefer, make the payment and configure the house indicating the number of rooms and the smart devices it contains. As of this moment, information is collected on dwelling and the behavior of those who live there. When it detects an anomaly or possible risk situation, Soffie sends the chosen person a message through the application so that they are informed of everything that is happening quickly. S2 Grupo has stressed that, in this way, it is possible to put technology at the service of families and that they can alleviate the anguish they may have felt during the quarantine by not being able to be in contact with their relatives and, at the same time, rest assured that they were being cared for and would be informed if any abnormality was detected.   More information: prensa@wonderful-jemison.82-223-151-98.plesk.page
