Valencia, European epicenter of cybersecurity with the ECSO CISO Meetup 2025
On September 23 and 24, Valencia became the European epicenter of cybersecurity with the celebration of the ECSO CISO Meetup 2025, an international meeting that brought together more than 200 CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers) from strategic companies and public bodies from all over Europe.
The event, organized by the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO), has counted with the participation of different companies of the sector, among them S2GRUPO.
Our participation in the ECSO CISO Meetup
In this edition we had an outstanding presence with the presentation of Antonio Sanz, Head of DFIR in S2GRUPO, entitled “From the Trenches: Lessons Learnt Managing Cybersecurity Incidents”. In it we will share real experiences of incident management in critical sectors, the main challenges that will mark 2025 and, in particular, our contribution to the European project R2D2, focused on strengthening the resilience of electricity and energy systems against advanced threats.
In addition, during the meeting we will present the progress of the R2D2 project at our booth, with specific materials illustrating how we are contributing to the development of new threat detection capabilities (including APTs), the improvement of the analysis of industrial protocols and the expansion of our cyber intelligence solutions, such as CARMEN, applied to the energy field.

The choice of Valencia as the venue highlights the potential of our city as a European hub for innovation and digital resilience. The ECSO CISO Meetup is also a unique opportunity for the entire cybersecurity ecosystem - companies, public administrations, universities and research centers - to meet in the same space, strengthening collaboration and generating shared knowledge.
During two days, the implementation of the NIS Directive2, the security of the supply chain, the impact of the Cyber Resilience Act, as well as emerging threats linked to artificial intelligence and quantum computing have been discussed.
