The Fallas festival in Valencia will protect children from cyberbaddies
Cybersecurity and Fallas come together for the fifth consecutive year in the children's monument of the Chiva-Francisco de Llano Commission, which this year will fight the 'Cibermalotes'. This is a pioneering project that we developed with them and this year has the collaboration of the falleros artists Alejandro Santaeulalia and Cristina Camarasa.
What prompted us to reach an agreement with the falla Chiva-Francisco de Llano five years ago was an idea that arose from working with children, explaining to them how to use technology safely. We thought that the perfect way to raise awareness and teach them about cybersecurity was to make use of such an important Valencian tradition as the Fallas.
To make this falla, we explained to the falleros artists what concepts such as sexting, cyberbullying, phishing, etc. are. And they have translated the cyber risks into something friendly to be able to present it to the youngest. They have understood us perfectly and have embroidered the monument.
Although our attention is focused on the youngest, it is true that with this initiative we also get adults to learn how to cyberprotect themselves, because every year we see how they are surprised by the cyber dangers we show them. The real danger is not seeing the risk where it really exists.
Pioneering project: the only cyber-safe, educational and interactive falla
The children's monument of the Falla Chiva-Francisco de Llano has become a pioneering project, being the only cybersafe, educational and interactive falla.
Under the slogan 'Cibermalotes', the fallero artists Alejandro Santaeulalia and Cristina Camarasa have created a very different falla, full of originality and very colorful in which appear, for example, ninots with clothes, with hair and there are many textures in the monsters.
Another of its most distinctive features is that through QR codes will allow access to explanatory videos of some of the main problems with cybercrime that children may encounter such as password theft, technoaddiction, phishing, grooming, fake news, social networks, cyberbullying and also raise the reflection of whether technology listens to us.
Some of the most outstanding ninots are, on the one hand, the ninot that they took to the exhibition and that is a clear example of one of the most serious and common cyber dangers faced by children and that is cyberbullying. And, on the other hand, the monster 'Zampa Claves' that through a funny image will help them to create strong passwords that prevent cybercriminals from accessing their data.
From S2 Grupo, it has been highlighted that the cybersecurity awareness of society is essential to advance in the digital transformation in which we are immersed. Through this project, the aim is to promote the safe use of new technologies and social networks in the most vulnerable families and groups to prevent them from becoming victims of cybercrime.
